The mayor of Cieza, Pascual Lucas, and the Councillor for Cultural Heritage and Museums, Manuela Fernández, presented the so-called Night of Museums, a cultural activity related to the International Museum Day and promoted by the Council of Europe.
Museums municipal and private ownership of the town (Museum Siyâsa, Folklore Center, Museum of Esparto, Museum of the Holy Week of Cieza and museums houses the ciezanas brotherhoods) they can be visited on 20 May from nine night until one in the morning.
In parallel, there will be a cultural route that will start at 21.00 in the Museum of Esparto, venue for the concert of the Band of the Municipal School of Music under the direction of Francisco García Alcázar.
Then the Siyâsa Museum will host the performance of different groups of chamber music Conservatory of Music Maestro Gomez Villa.
The next stop will be at 22.30 at the Folklore Center where the Chorus and Dance Group will perform 'Traditions'.
Finally, at 23.15, the Museum of Easter will receive a band of bugles and drums parade through the streets around the museum houses the Children of Mary, Holy Christ of Consuelo and Los Dormis brotherhoods.
And, in addition to the Basilica of the Assumption, also they open their doors.
The holder of the municipal area commented that the first edition has been an effort to coordinate museum centers of the town and City Council to turn that night only with a special program of cultural events organized within the museums.
He also thanked local collective entities and the support they have given selflessly to this new cultural initiative, showing his satisfaction that "thanks to the involvement of all of them will be a different night to knowledge."
Asked about the anniversary of Siyâsa Museum, which turns 17 this May 12, Fernandez stressed that this museum center has established itself as the great cultural landmark of the city.
On the occasion of this anniversary, he recalled that the Association of Friends of Siyâsa Friday organize a conference on the documentary legacy of the Cabré family.
For its part, the alderman has indicated that this is an activity that is being held for the first time the Museum Night already in place in many European cities to facilitate access to citizens to museums at night .
"Our aim is to increase the craic and to value the local heritage. It is a different view of the museums of the town".
Lucas concluded by saying that the government team "has been proposed to place Cieza in the proper place in the cultural landscape of the region of Murcia, and this activity is a step we have taken in that direction."
And it was convinced that the city "will reinforce its cultural and leisure offer with the celebration of the Night of Museums".
