This municipal initiative, based on the deciudades educadorasque movement started in Barcelona, ​​it is based on the idea that the whole city is a source of education.

The mayor of Cieza, Lucas Pascual and the Councillor for Education, Manuela Fernández, presented the project 'Educating City Cieza' whose main focus will revolve around schools in the locality.
Its aim is to work together with educational sense in the development of policies and actions that promote the quality of life of people, their personal and collective development.
The project has three strands that intertwine with each other: the first, called 'Cieza educates', aimed to coordinate municipal centers, associations and organizations to participate in the implementation of an intensive program aimed at students.
Among other tasks, the first block will work on issues such as truancy, development of complementary and extracurricular activities or bullying prevention.
The second large block will focus on 'Participation and citizenship training' and will be protected by the Children's Council, a new advisory body to be established on 7 November.
"It will be an advisory body and which conclusions can be applied at the municipal level in schools and colleges will be obtained," explains Councillor for Education.
Also in this section it will affect the students to inculcate the need for a 'Cieza clean', besides promoting creativity workshops and activities for youngsters.
The implementation of the Council for Children with the aim of creating a space where children can participate and make known their needs and interests and propose initiatives that respond to their reality.
Finally, the third section will seek to establish the 'Network of Educational Centers' in order that there is a continuous exchange of information and experiences among all schools of the city.
