As was already known, the socialist party aspired once reached the government, not only listen to the people but give them a say in the future of our people.
In our election manifesto this goal we scored we socialists with a participatory budgeting where the word be given to both groups and citizens reflected.
We highly value the work of the council of finance, Antonio Ignacio Martinez-Real, having for this purpose a budget.
On this first occasion the budget allocated for this purpose will be € 150,000, of which € 130,000 will be for investment and € 20,000 for activities;
cultural, sports, youth, tourism, etc.
Also to be noted positively the commitment of the municipal government to be increasing the amount gradually year after year.
Since the PSOE we applaud the PP for its change of position on this issue, supporting the action of the government team promoting participatory budgets, as Councilman Garcia said Angela.
Remember, that during 12 years of absolute majority of the PP, never raised nor gave opportunity to citizens to participate in budget preparation.
Therefore, and as it is never too late if that is good, we are glad that change of attitude of the PP seems to feel better opposition than the government because for 12 years refused to involve citizens in budgets, and yet in just one year of opposition have already rectified the criterion.
In this way, with the launch of the first participatory budgeting, compliance is given to a compromise with the Socialists of Cieza introduced ourselves to the municipal elections of 2015.
Hopefully these first participatory budgeting mark a path of no return in the way of doing politics in our municipality where the citizen will be heard and participation in decisions.
Participation and transparency must be the way of our City.
