On December 20, the Councilor for Agriculture, Antonio Moya, attended the presentation of the program 'Agroemprendia', an initiative that will train 12 workers in the cooperatives associated with the federation in Cieza and Lorca.
The Federation of Agricultural Cooperatives of the Region of Murcia (Fecoam) and the Institute of Development (Info) have created the training project 'Agroemprendia', which will train young entrepreneurs and future farmers in matters so that they can be able to constitute their own Agricultural enterprise or have an entrepreneurial training oriented to the sector when they enter to work in an already formed.
The initiative will involve the training of 12 young people in agricultural cooperatives associated with Fecoam in the localities of Cieza and Lorca, the two most productive areas of the Region of Murcia in agrarian matters and where the agricultural cooperative sector is more present.
A training that will have three main areas of action: training in crop production, management of farms and marketing of agricultural products, to be carried out through Fecoam;
Training in the creation of agri-food companies, and the tutoring of actions based on the start-up of new business projects in the agricultural sector.
The federation will train the participants to be able to carry out the technical and economic management of the crops of an agricultural holding.
Another ability that participants can acquire is to optimize the organization and exploitation of their resources and how to make informed decisions autonomously.
Fecoam will be in charge of imparting all this knowledge so that, later, the students can apply them in their practical experience in agricultural cooperatives.
These practices will be carried out under the formula of non-work professional practices.
The objective is that these future entrepreneurs can develop their business idea through this experience in agricultural cooperatives.
The federation and its cooperatives will allocate 100 hours of training for these students (75 theoretical and 25 practical) to be completed in face-to-face mode.
This training will begin to assess specific aspects such as the history of agriculture in the Region of Murcia and its current situation;
Quality agricultural production systems;
The needs, fertilization, techniques and phytosanitary products applicable to productive crops;
The selection of markets in which the Region is more competitive;
The economic management of farms, and training to access aid for farming.
'Agroemprendia' is financed by the Regional Employment and Training Service and co-financed by the European Social Fund.
Another example is the commitment of the agricultural cooperatives entity to the training of entrepreneurs and future entrepreneurs in the regional agricultural sector.
Specifically, Fecoam is also committed to a generational changeover in the regional agricultural sector to continue to take advantage of the land resources and that the rural environment represents a sector of the future for its inhabitants.
That is why it highlights the adaptation to new technologies and the modernization of crops and the entire agricultural production process as factors of an increase in the quality of the final product, increased safety and improved working conditions of people Who work in this sector.
