The Ministry of Water, Agriculture and Environment has launched a new Forest Defense Center in Cieza, with the aim of completing the infrastructure network that supports territorial management actions.
The director general of Rural Development and Forestry, Federico García Izquierdo, visited today the new facilities, which have meant an investment of 400,000 euros.
They are composed of two modules that include an Office of Environmental Agents, information point and attention to the citizen, meeting room for the work team, training room, toilets and dressing rooms, lounge, kitchen and dining room.
García Izquierdo noted that "the new center is in addition to those already existing in Cehegín and Abarán and comes to provide the region of Cieza with adequate facilities to centralize the work of management and custody of the territory, forestry and fire prevention and defense Forestry ".
The center houses the offices of the county head of environmental agents in Cieza and the forest brigade with 8 extinction specialists, a rapid intervention brigade with 4 specialists and 5 environmental agents.
From there, training, operational and organizational support will be provided to some 90 people, 20 environmental agents, 32 extinction specialists, 12 fixed watchmen, 14 technicians and logistics personnel.
The General Directorate for Rural and Forestry Development brings to the operation of the Infomur Plan a total of 19 Landfill brigades (Brofpr), 4 Rapid Intervention Brigades (BIR) and 2 Helitrans Brigades.
