The head of Culture has referred to the municipal program of activities organized for the coming days as a proposal that tries to consolidate all the celebrations that have been offered until now and recover customs.
"Cieza has always been a land of carnival tradition, even if it was at the last minute to get out of the closet the first thing we found and disguise ourselves."
The Councilor for Culture, Maria Ramos, presented this Wednesday the activities of the Carnival 2017 organized for the coming days of February 25 to 28, which will be characterized by contests, parades and entertainment on the street.
Ramos has commented that "the color, music and fun will stain the streets of Cieza in the last days of February.Cieza has always been a land of carnival tradition, even if it was at the last minute to take the first thing out of the closet That we find and disguise ourselves.This year is loaded with competitions and animation to invite the neighbors, young and old, to participate in these parties.
He also emphasized that the prelude of the carnival will be the concert of the Young Orchestra of Cieza whose components will interpret well known soundtracks.
The performance directed by Francisco José Ríos-López will include recreations of those scores in the interplay of works, "something that will remind us that carnivals are close."
It will be next February 24, at 8:00 pm, at the Capitol Theater.
He also noted that the "always successful carnival parade and costume contest for its influx of public and the participation of comparsas has already registered a total of 15 groups so far."
The deadline will remain open until February 23.
The inscriptions can be managed in the premises of the Department of Culture, located on the second floor of the Capitol Theater, from Monday to Friday, from 9.00 to 13.00 hours.
The carnival party will depart at 17.00 hours from the Paseo de Antonio Salas and will tour the following streets: Paseo de José Antonio Camacho, Gran Vía Juan Carlos I, Camino de Murcia, Corner of the Convent, Paseo, Santa Ana and Plaza de España.
Regarding the aforementioned parade of 25 February in the afternoon, there will be four prizes of 800, 500, 400 and 300 euros for the best groups.
On the other hand, the participation of the associations of mothers and fathers of students will be rewarded with 300 euros in case they did not receive the first or second prizes with 500 and 400 euros, respectively.
The awards ceremony will conclude with a party in the Plaza de España, where there will be a DJ.
On Monday will take over a new activity consisting of a contest of costumes made with recycled materials.
This novelty has the support of the Department of Works and Services.
The organization will establish two categories, under 15 years and over 16, with prizes consisting of vouchers of 50 and 150 euros to spend in local shops.
The inscriptions will be made from 16.30 in the Plaza of Spain.
For the afternoon of February 28, Reventón's Tuesday, Ramos has indicated that "we will continue recovering customs. Finally, it has encouraged all the Ciezanos to participate and join the programmed activities, "to take to the streets and have fun."
