The meeting began with a review, by Nerea Martínez, of what he described as an "intense" process of the participatory budgets of 2017, since it was carried out in just three months.
He also reviewed the functions and phases of these, recalling that 167 proposals were submitted, which, after passing through the assemblies, the assessment by the municipal technicians were reduced to 67 for the final vote.
Likewise, he noted that in one way or another, a total of 645 people participated, finally voting 205, on a very rainy Sunday, which undoubtedly subtracted influx to the urn installed in the market square.
After the councilor's presentation, the attendees were grouped into three commissions to analyze both the positive aspects and the deficiencies and possible improvements of the process for the budgets of 2017.
Among the positive aspects, pointed out by some of the commissions in the 2017 process, the fact that it was launched for the first time in the municipality, as well as the will of the council to get them ahead, stood out.
Among the proposals for improvement, they pointed out the need for more time to carry it out;
A greater involvement of the associative tissue in the same;
A greater technical explanation of what type of projects can be presented, reducing their amount to increase the final number of these, and, above all, the search for formulas for a greater citizen participation, among which the telematic vote, the installation Of more ballot boxes for the face-to-face vote and the possibility of carrying out the vote in at least two days.
Following the conclusions of the commissions, the Councilor for Finance ensured that all projects approved for 2017 will be carried out throughout the year, ending the meeting with the commitment by the Councilor for Citizen Participation that the commission of Monitoring and evaluation meet every three months.
