The Mayor of Cieza, Pascual Lucas, is pleased that the targets he is setting for employment to lower the unemployment rate are being met.
"In two years, the City has managed to reduce the number of unemployed in 1,637 people, cutting the unemployment rate by 10 points, an achievement. One of our commitments was and will be to work to improve this data, and the ones we present today are The best guarantee that we can reach the citizens. That is why our economic development plan is vital for the city. "
This has been one of the arguments that the mayor has exposed in his appearance at this Thursday's press conference to put into value the results of the latest unemployment data.
Figures that are specified in the information provided by the Training and Employment Service (SEF) of the Region of Murcia, which put unemployment in the municipality in 1,926 people in May, 315 less than in April, when they registered 2,241.
These are numbers to which the regidor himself has not hesitated to call them "historical."
He himself recalled that they are the result of the municipal employment policies put in place, "since since 2007 our municipality was unable to lower its rate of 2,000 unemployed."
Without forgetting at any moment that behind these data is the Department of Employment and Economic Development of the City of Cieza.
Thus, Lucas conveyed his satisfaction to the Councilor for Employment and Economic Development, Antonio Moya, and the technicians of this municipal area for the good results that "are being obtained thanks to his enormous effort."
He encouraged the mayor to continue on this path: "Consistory ciezano continues with the objective of lowering this rate, as well as the development of a solvent employment plan to generate quality work."
The mayor of Cieza also referred to another fact that, in his opinion, "is important to emphasize. The unemployment rate that existed when we reached the municipal government in 2015 was 23.4 percent (reference of 2014) and is now In 13.4 percent, or what is the same, a reduction in 10 points. This is an achievement that is within the reach of very few municipalities.
And if that were not enough, Lucas explained to the media that "one of our actions has been to facilitate and support the expansions in its facilities of companies such as Alimer, Sociedad Cooperativa, or El Ciruelo, Sociedad Limitada, and the implementation of New companies such as G'S España, Sociedad Limitada, and Vidal Golosinas to generate jobs for Cieza. "
He also confirmed that, "within that exercise of responsibility and commitment to Cieza," his government team is creating a Multi-year Development Plan that "integrates many important actions."
Regarding the possibility of the City Council holding talks to get new businesses in the municipality, the councilman was extremely cautious, "is an issue that has to be carried out with prudence," but added that "yes there are, For prudence, we can not give details because they are delicate matters and we do not want that they remain in nothing ".
The development of Cieza begins with these important actions that such good results are giving, as well as the Flowering Tourism Plan, which also helped to reduce the unemployment rate, and other plans and projects of great depth that we will realize thanks to the subsidy of five Millions of euros achieved by this government team and thanks to citizen participation.
For his part, Moya showed that, in terms of employment, "municipalities have to give facilities and put the wicker companies to hire" and was in favor of getting the local economy "to diversify and we have Made with the tourist project Floración, which has created many jobs. This tourism dynamization plan is the future of this diversification.
Abounding in this matter, "training is essential to achieve the objectives that are in line with the profiles demanded by entrepreneurs. Previously we offered upholstery and dietetics and nutrition courses and now we offer electricity, phytosanitary or pruning courses more in line with Blind companies and we have taught them to more than a thousand people ".
In his speech Moya stressed that the City "has run out of industrial land, with very little that offers Business Promotions so you have to work to create a bag of soil."
He also highlighted the collaboration of IES Los Albares to offer for the first time the next course two modules of Basic Vocational Training in agriculture and international trade.
