The Ministry of Health will allocate 1,250,432 euros to improve the facilities of the hospital of the Vega 'Lorenzo Guirao' of Cieza, in which it will be renewed the entire system of air conditioning of the hospitalization zones and the system of production of Central cold of the building.
These actions aim to provide greater safety in the production of the cold required to climatize the center in summer, and will allow the generated cold to be used properly in the patients' rooms.
With all of this, it is intended to guarantee the necessary comfort in each room of hospitalization and other areas of those plants.
In particular, the work includes replacing the cold water production equipment needed for the air conditioning of the hospital in summer, and the devices that take cold from the water to bring freshness to each room.
In addition, the equipment of the rooms are replaced by others of current technology.
The installation of a centralized climate control system will improve the comfort of patients in the rooms and other areas of hospitalization and will allow the recording of all room temperatures throughout the day.
This will ensure that adequate conditions are available at all times, in addition to being able to record in what situation each room has been found.
The works also include replacing the water pipes that connect the production equipment with those of each room and masonry works necessary to restore ceilings and walls to the initial conditions.
About 3,500 income per year
The hospital of the Vega 'Lorenzo Guirao' has assigned 589 workers, of which 121 render Primary Care service.
Annually, it records about 3,500 incomes, more than 22,200 stays and about 36,800 urgencies.
Between 2015 and 2106 investments of 1.2 million euros were made, such as a computerized tomography (CAT) scanner, a mammograph and various surgical equipment, in addition to the Farmacia white room.
This year, in addition to the adequacy of the air conditioning, will also undertake improvement in digital radiology, the construction of a new operating room and the extension of the endoscopy unit.
