'The heritage of the Ricote Valley: its conservation and use as a cultural and tourist asset' is the title of the course that will be held next September at the Unimar headquarters as announced by Raquel Sánchez, director of the International University of the Sea .
The presentation of the academic activity to be held from 11 to 13 September at the Siyâsa Museum was attended by the Councilor for Education, Manuela Fernández;
The director of the permanent headquarters of the University of Murcia in Cieza, María Semitiel, and the co-directors of the course, María Mercedes Millán and María Dolores Piñera,
In her speech the director of the Unimar appreciated the collaboration of the City of Cieza with the summer courses of the University of Murcia over fourteen years and thanked the commitment of this municipality to promote the knowledge of citizens through an action Formative meeting of its thirty-fourth edition.
For its part, the Councilor for Education highlighted the fact of being able to collaborate with the University of Murcia, "a centennial institution that is the closest to citizens", through the agreement signed to develop the permanent headquarters in the municipality.
For Fernandez denotes "the commitment of this government team with education."
Regarding the course, Millán explained that the general objective of the course is to promote knowledge of the heritage of the Valle de Ricote from a broad perspective as it is the conservation, value and enjoyment of it.
In his words, "it will be an unforgettable experience for the quality of the speakers".
María Dolores Piñera was in charge of revealing the contents of the programmed presentations, highlighting the interventions of Ciez guests as speakers such as Joaquín Salmerón and José Antonio Gázquez or of participants in roundtables such as Mónica Lucas and Antonio Balsalobre.
The turn of interventions was closed by Maria Semitiel who encouraged all those who wish, university or not, to enroll.
Regarding the function of the permanent headquarters of the University of Murcia, he said that "our purpose is to be useful to the Ciezans and to serve social learning through this institution."
The days are completed with a series of guided tours to the Serreta Cave, Siyâsa Museum, Espart Museum of Cieza and Museum of Belenes de Ojós.
The training action, 25 hours, costs 85 euros for general public and 65 for members of the University of Murcia and Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena.
All the information can be obtained on the web portal www.um.es/unimar, where it is also possible to register electronically.
Enrollments can be made up to one week before the start of the activity, as long as there are unfilled places (50 students).
