After the last attacks in Barcelona and Cambrils, the concern about the way the terrorists act has led to extreme precautions so that they do not occur in the region.
The Delegation of the Government of Murcia has advised to adopt extraordinary measures of security, reason why the City council of Cieza, following this recommendation, has hosted an emergency security meeting in which the mayor, Pascual Lucas, and the commanders of The Local Police Headquarters and the Civil Guard in the municipality.
After the meeting, municipal sources have indicated that, taking into account the agglomeration of people these days by the different activities of the patron saint festivities, it has meant the possibility of placing fixed elements in the streets of the municipality that usually register more influx of people.
At the meeting, special emphasis was placed on maximizing safety measures when carrying out public events, exhibitions or concerts where the crowd of people is high.
For this, they would put moving elements, like vehicles, other fixed ones, like bollards or objects of urban furniture, also intensifying the police presence in the different acts of fair.
