Francisco Saorín, the first deputy mayor of the City Council of Cieza, appeared on Thursday before the media as spokesman of the government team to make an assessment of the regular ordinary held on 5 September.
To begin with, he regretted that although a unanimous agreement had already been reached between unions and the municipal government regarding the approval of the new agreement on working conditions for public employees, the proposal had to remain on the table for the discrepancies and doubts expressed by the opposition groups.
For the government team, particular attention was drawn to the proposals made fully by the PP, since one of them was specifically aimed at lowering taxes, rates and public prices for the self-employed, with particular emphasis on the fact that these reductions were its fiscal policy.
"An exercise of pure demagoguery" in the opinion of the municipal government, since "they should not remember that during their term of office there were increases of up to 113% in municipal nurseries and up to 495% in special education."
On the other hand, a CCCi proposal was received that "essentially requested something that is already being done, which is the harmonization and simplification of the fiscal ordinances of the City Council."
Proof of this is that last August was approved the modification of the tax ordinance that regulates the use of sports facilities, with the simplification and elimination of tariffs, and establishing other novelties such as regulating the exemption of fees to disabled centers by use of the heated pool.
Likewise, the proposals of Citizens (C`s) who requested, on the one hand, the creation of a Local Council of Culture, were accepted and approved by unanimity, so that, with the help of the associative fabric of the municipality, the the cultural policy of our people, "one more way that citizen participation is increasingly a reality", in the words of Saorin.
On the other hand, the municipal spokesman valued the initiative of the same political group for the placement of acoustic indications systems at pedestrian traffic lights.
"From the Department of Traffic was presented a report on the matter and the intervention commitment was acquired, according to the proposal brought by Oscar Verdejo, improving the existing points and conditioning all specified in the initiative presented."
Finally, Saorín expressed his "surprise" for the method used by the PP in the presentation of initiatives, "where in one call for tax cuts and the next increase in expenses, aimed at improving the Way of the Source."
