The City Council of Cieza has held the working meeting for the configuration of the security and prevention device of the traditional pilgrimage of the Virgin of Buen Suceso next Sunday 24 September.
This meeting has been attended by representatives of all the organizations that will collaborate with the development of the pilgrimage, among them, Local Police, Civil Guard, Forest Guard, Fire Brigade, Civil Protection and Red Cross, as well as those responsible for the municipal services and the Junta de Hermanos Pasionarias de Cieza.
In the design of the said device, actions are taken in relation to safety elements which, given the good results obtained in previous editions, are considered fundamental in order to preserve, as far as possible, the safety of neighbors who visit both the popular verbena in the night of 23 of September like to the pilgrimage of the patron of Cieza in the morning of the day 24.
Thus, the operation will begin on the day before the pilgrimage at 18.00 hours and will extend until 14.00 the following day.
This year's police reinforcement will be permanently composed of three patrols of the Local Police and other agents of the Civil Guard, without neglecting the attention to the urban area.
It has also been requested the presence of agents of the Citizen Security Unit of the Benemérita.
The security device is completed with the presence of volunteers from the Spanish Red Cross, which will establish a post for the possible attention of accident victims a few meters from the precinct of the taverns set up by the brotherhoods and sororities of Holy Week.
The service will be complemented by the members of the Fire Extinguishing and Rescue Consortium, which will locate a restraint.
In the moments of greater influx of neighbors to the hill of the Watchtower, especially on Saturday night and during the transfer of the Virgin on Sunday morning, the road linking the Meco Bridge and the sanctuary will be cut to traffic by the Local Police from the moment they are covered the parking places enabled in the area.
