The Mayor of Cieza, Pascual Lucas, received this morning the chief captain of the 2nd Company of the Civil Guard of Cieza, Pascual Martinez, on the occasion of the invitation to the acts of the patron saint of the Armed Institute on 12 October.
During the meeting, it has been announced that, this year, the events will be limited to the celebration of the traditional raising of the flag at the gates of the Civil Guard barracks in Cieza and the subsequent mass in honor of the patroness, Virgen del Pilar.
Therefore, the acts of a playful nature that were scheduled to be celebrated at the end of the mass are suspended, in solidarity with the civil guards and national police deployed in Catalonia who are going through "such a complicated and difficult moment in defense of the constitutional order."
The regent of Cieza has taken advantage of this simple act to transmit to the captain of the Civil Guard "all the affection, respect, solidarity and support of the City Council of Cieza and all the Ciezans, thanking him for the valuable services that are currently providing Spain".
In addition, Pascual Lucas recalled "the excellent relations that the City and its Local Police maintains with the Civil Guard of Cieza", emphasizing "the coordination between the two bodies and the realization of joint services."
The chief captain of the 2nd Civil Guard Company of Cieza, Pascual Martínez, for his part, has been grateful for the support and solidarity displayed, feeling "very satisfied with the good relations between the City Council and Civil Guard", while calling for " unity of all estates and society in defense of the constitutional order ".
