The Tax Agency of the Region of Murcia (ATRM) will take over the management of municipal taxes in Cieza in order to improve the service offered to the neighbors.

The plenary of the City Council of the town approved the transfer of the management of municipal taxes to the Tax Agency of the Region of Murcia, in the field of executive collection and with management, liquidation and inspection powers, which will allow the ATRM is responsible for taxes such as the Tax on Economic Activities (IAE).

The Minister of Finance and Public Administration, Andrés Carrillo, explained that "this voluntary decision of the City Council of Cieza will allow more agility, optimization and better management in the collection of municipal taxes," adding that "this is one more sample of the support Regional government to municipalities ".

The Community already manages the taxes 32 municipalities of the Region through the ATRM.

In addition, the Community will install a taxpayer assistance office so that in Cieza regional taxes can also be presented, and any local residents do not have to move to Murcia to obtain tax settlement such as the transfer of assets or documented legal acts.

The assignment of the management of the taxes will be formalized with the signing of an agreement between the two institutions.

The management of municipal taxes by the Tax Agency is a saving for municipalities, while providing specialized technical staff.

In addition, this system includes that citizens can access a personalized payment plan, with deferment of up to 12 months without interest.

The ATRM currently has a network of 29 offices spread throughout the Region, where a comprehensive tax service is provided and where the neighbors can make their arrangements in any of the offices of the ATRM in the same way as it would in their municipality .

In addition, the agency makes available to municipalities and taxpayers the Virtual Office, through which they can carry out telematic actions such as payments over the Internet, deferrals and payment splits or requests for information, among others.
