The objective of this initiative promoted by the Department of Crafts is not only to disseminate the excellence of local products and articles, but to support artisans and recover trades that have remained forgotten for a long time.
The Paseo will host from next Friday until November 26 a Craft Show, which is part of the line of action developed by the City of Cieza to promote crafts, and involving eighteen local and regional artisans.
In its first edition they collaborate the Artisan Association of the Region of Murcia and the Association of Artisans of Jumilla.
The Councilor for Craft, Pilar Martinez, accompanied by local artisans and the manager of the Artisan Association of the Region of Murcia, Arcadio Hernandez, has presented the exhibition of artisan products that, in his opinion, "will be characterized by its variety and quality exceptional".
Ceramists, esparteros, goldsmiths, wickerwork and other artisan crafts will offer their creations to the public.
The producers who are in the sample are Artisan Products 'La Ermita', Espartícos, La Madre Tierra, Madera y Cartón, El Desván de Juana, Ceramic José Ríos, Dulces G. Amo, D'Artesam and Caprichos de Punto.
On the other hand, Murcia artisans invited by the organization are José Bielsa, Rope Jewels, Gloria Gaudioso and MimbreCía.
In her speech, the municipal official announced that the guest city is Jumilla.
For this will be counted in the stands of the Paseo de Cieza with the presence of five members attached to the Association of Artisans of Jumilla: The Sweet Dragon, Imagine by Lozoya, Quedepocholadas and the Green Bird, Estrella Carros / Pedro Abellán and Greisa Artesanía.
Also, and in the course of the presentation, Martinez explained that the Department of Crafts also aims to promote the Crafts Association of Cieza to awaken among the residents interest and participation, as well as the development of craft activities, and recover trades that They have been forgotten for a long time.
The manager of the Artisan Association of the Region of Murcia has affirmed that Murcian craftsmanship is an example of quality, which requires the support of all administrations to safeguard the works made by artisans and that, in some cases, have already fallen in disuse.
He has also referred to the need to promote craftsmanship in order to generate wealth, development and employment.
The participating artisans will make demonstrations on their stands on Sunday in order that the sample, which will have a wide range of traditional products, will attract the visitor's attention.
Thus, for example, there will be displays of crystal carving, goldsmithing and decoration on paper.
For children, a workshop will be held after 11.00.
The holder of Crafts has invited all the neighbors to support this activity and has publicly thanked the collaboration of the participating artisans.
The opening hours are from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
