Hospital de la Vega-Lorenzo Guirao de Cieza has begun to carry out training practices in collaboration with the regional Association of parents and protectors of mentally handicapped people (Ascopas), an initiative that aims to promote the social use of health centers.
The specific objective of the agreement with Ascopas is to sensitize the population and hospital workers about how to carry out a real integration in a center belonging to the Murcian Health Service.
Thus, the agreement establishes the definition of a job that includes a prior theoretical-practical process.
The student acquires the necessary knowledge in the occupational center so that, through a six-month internship model, it complements the learning with a real practical experience.
The experience will allow monitoring and standardized evaluation of the development of the activity in terms of knowledge acquisition and development of specific skills.
Ascopas is a non-profit association whose purpose is to defend the values of people with mental disabilities and their families.
Its aims are educational-cultural, assistance and social, among which are promoting the personal and social development of these people, favoring their social and labor integration and thus facilitate their independence.
