The Ministry of the Presidency and Development has recently completed the repair of the tunnel that works as a waterway located at kilometer 10.5 under the regional highway RM-532, which links the municipality of Cieza with the Northwest highway, RM-15 .
This action will mean greater safety for the more than 582,000 vehicles that transit through this route annually, of which 23,700 are heavy.
The general director of Highways, José Antonio Fernández Lladó, visited the road this week, where he was able to verify the result of the conservation work carried out last month, which consisted of "reinforcement of the base of the bridge, which was very deteriorated by the drag produced by the rains, through the improvement of the foundation that will prevent its sinking ".
José Antonio Fernández Lladó also explained that the repair of the road that was deteriorated was made, despite the different actions that had been carried out by the road maintenance brigade.
"We have cleaned part of the road by demolishing the road, thus eliminating the material that was in poor condition," said the general manager, who added that, after this action, has made a reinforced concrete wall to protect the wall of existing masonry, "which will prevent the weight of the vehicles from affecting it".
The RM-532 highway was one of the 144 roads included in the cleaning campaign on margins and ditches in 1,700 kilometers of the regional road network, which eliminated the presence of weeds and weeds that made it difficult to see and correct drainage Longitudinal of the roads.
