The Department of Commerce has completed the work to regularize the weekly market held on Wednesdays in our town to which thousands of ciezanos and ciezanas come.
Today, it has been achieved that all installed posts have the required administrative authorization that ensures that both merchants and products sold comply with legal standards ensuring consumer safety and sanitary control.
At the same time, the regularization forces the holders of the posts to comply with the tax obligations with the municipality and with the Social Security, ensuring that the Municipal Ordinance regulating the sale outside the commercial establishment is complied with.
This new situation contrasts enormously with the chaos that existed previously, maintained and consented for years by the previous governments of the Popular Party.
The majority of sales positions lacked a license, verbally and without control being authorized that the products sold comply with health and control regulations that guarantee the safety of consumers.
At the same time, the majority of sellers without a license did not pay the municipal taxes for the exercise of the activity generating a debt of hundreds of thousands of euros, favoring unfair competition and that the positions in the market were sold from some owners to others without municipal control and with the indifference of the previous rulers of the Popular Party.
In the words of the Councilwoman of Commerce, Mª Jesús López, with this regularization order and control is put in place.
We know who sells and sells, demanding compliance with health and safety standards for the products because the first thing is the safety of consumers.
On the other hand adds the responsible for trade, it ends with the irregular sale and the sellers are forced to keep abreast of the municipal taxes if they want to maintain the position in the weekly market.
This government team is still committed to put order in some aspects where chaos has reigned for many years, convinced, as in this case, that it is worth the work done from the different councils and that will revert in all citizens.
The result of the regularization, is that merchants to obtain or renew the license, have had to be updated in the payment of arrears.
Thus until December 31, 2017 have been collected 98,623.28 euros of debts of the weekly market rate in executive since 2004 that will be used to improve services and public infrastructure.
In this regard, the credibility of the former councilor for trade with the PP, Carmen Camacho, who last week in the House denied categorically that there were debts, evidencing its inoperacy at the head of the Department of Commerce.
López wanted to thank the efforts made by the officials of the Department of Commerce, legal advice, local police and other services that have participated and made it possible to put in order the weekly market and indicates its purpose to continue working on the control and it improves both the weekly market and the small and medium trade of our municipality.
