The works, which will conclude in 2019, have a budget of 560,000 euros and will generate thirty direct jobs

The new Employment Office of Cieza, which will be located in what is now the old clinic of the town, will have an area of ​​739 square meters that will house the offices of the Regional Employment and Training Service (SEF) and the Public Service of State Employment (SEPE).
The new facility will double in size to the current one, of 339 square meters, and will allow the attention of more than 4,000 users, most of them job seekers from the municipality and the region.
The Minister of Employment, Universities and Enterprise, Juan Hernandez, and the mayor of the town, Pascual Lucas, today signed the agreement by which the Consistory hands over to the Community, and more specifically to the SEF, this two-story building, during a act chaired by the Government delegate in the Region of Murcia, Francisco Bernabé.
The rehabilitation will begin after the bidding process, and will conclude throughout 2019.
In addition to having more spacious facilities, the dependencies of the SEF will be equipped with a multipurpose room where workshops, seminars, seminars and group orientation activities for the unemployed will be held and which may be used by the City Council.
Juan Hernández stressed that "this is a great agreement that will bring a direct benefit to the users of Cieza and those of nearby municipalities, because this office is going to be one of the most modern in the Region. one of the main ones of our network, and in fact, managed last year 20 percent of the total of placements in the Region, but the new facilities will allow to take a very important jump of quality in the attention ".
The building, located between Santa Gertrudis and Padre Salmerón streets, was owned by 50 percent of the City Council and 50 percent of the Community.
The agreement implies that the City Council relinquishes its share, that the Community becomes the one hundred percent owner of the building, and that it will rehabilitate it at no cost to the Consistory.
It was the SEF that proposed to the City Council the cession of the old ambulatory, in order to have an installation that offered an optimal service.
To this end, a subsidy of 554,000 euros has been provided by the SEPE, within the budget of this organization to finance the renovation of dependencies and equipment of the employment offices.
The total budget of the actions amounts to 560,000 euros, and the total renovation of the building will generate thirty direct jobs in the municipality.
Thus, 40,000 euros will be allocated to foundations and structures;
170,000 euros to enclosures, divisions and coverings;
90,000 euros to cover;
60,000 euros to carpentry, and 200,000 euros to facilities.
The counselor affirmed that "active employment policies are taking on special relevance in the current context of job creation, and its fundamental point of support is the employment office, so the effort to modernize them is a priority. The citizen perceives that these offices are a place to carry out procedures, but also where they can be guided by experts in employment, who will trace their path towards labor insertion ".
First office in placements
The Cieza Office last year handled 3,406 job placements, which represents 20 percent of the regional total.
Therefore, it is the first in number of placements managed through job offers.
As for its number of unemployed, Cieza currently has 2,603 ​​people unemployed, while twelve months ago were 2,858.
Therefore, since January 2017 there are 255 less unemployed, a decrease of 8.92 percent.
As regards its volume of workers, Cieza currently registers 9,320 Social Security affiliates, 69 more than twelve months ago.
