The economic sectors of the municipality agree to make a symbolic stoppage of five minutes and call the citizens to concentrate at the gates of the City Council.
Civil society has made an effort in recent days to send a message that, apart from the existing concern, Cieza is at the side of its farmers.
That is why on Monday the Cieza City Council met in the Blue Room representatives of all economic sectors of the municipality in order to show their support to farmers and irrigators who will demonstrate this Wednesday in Madrid to claim the Central Government "immediate solutions "to eradicate the water deficit in the Spanish Levante, and irrigation water prices comparable to the rest of irrigation users in Spain.
The mayor of Cieza, Pascual Lucas, has expressed to the assistants his adhesion to the demands of farmers and irrigators and has sent them a message of support that has had the unconditional support of the representatives of the associations of industrialists and entrepreneurs, of merchants and of Cieza hoteliers.
The alderman will attend the demonstration that will start from the street of Alcalá to Cibeles and from there to the Ministry of Agriculture where at 13.30 a manifesto will be read with the motives and demands for the Government of Spain in order to achieve a "solution" to the water problems of the Spanish Levante.
In parallel, the neighbors of Cieza have been summoned to join this Wednesday to a concentration of five minutes at the gates of the Town Hall, at 12.00, as support to farmers.
The economic sectors of the municipality have agreed to make a five-minute symbolic strike and have called on businesses, businesses and establishments of Cieza to join the mobilization, while they have shown their unwavering support to the agricultural sector, whose development pivots precisely on the need to have water guarantees to carry out its activity, which is one of the pillars of the economy of Cieza and the Region of Murcia.
