The III Regional Book Fair for Children and Youth will be held this year from 16 to 25 April in Cieza, organized by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment and the City Council.
Both in this and in other nearby municipalities will be held for ten days numerous activities related to the world of literature and theater.
The general director of Cultural Assets, Juan Antonio Lorca, and the mayor of Cieza, Pascual Lucas, today presented the program of "this important cultural event" that is being held in the Region of Murcia, one more year, "with the aim of attracting the youngest to the world of culture and instill in them the reading habit, a habit that, if they really know and enjoy, they will not abandon throughout their life, "said Lorca.
This programming, explained the person in charge of Cultural Assets, "is part of the broad Plan for the Promotion of Reading prepared by the regional government that is allowing, for example, to expand the funds of the libraries of the Region, as well as modernize and update these centers and make them more accessible, turning them into spaces of cultural agitation ".
Similarly, he added, "we continue to take culture to the street, enabling libraries in institutions and associations, bringing reading to schools and other successful initiatives such as the 'Bibliobus' and this fair is an excellent motivation to enjoy the books in family, focusing on a very important audience such as children and young people, for whom the campaign '#meleoencima' is very targeted, which will soon be launched by the Ministry ".
The program will begin on April 16 with the show 'The magic of reading', where Luigi Ludus will tell the little ones how he joined his two passions, magic and reading, and Antonio Balsalobre will be the first author to present his book , 'La Cieza de ayer.

Also, they will visit Cieza to meet with relevant national writers such as Lorenzo Silva and Care Santos.
Juan Antonio Lorca referred to the prominence that the writers of the Region will have, "who we support and whose work we always try to make known from the Ministry".
Next to Balsalobre they appear Manuel Moyano, Francisco Lopez Mengual, Juan Soto Ivars, Shirin Klaus and Inmaculada Pelegrín, many of them will visit several institutes.

Theatrical proposals such as the street puppet show 'Juan sin miedo';
the assembly 'Alegría', Max Award for the Best Theater Show for Children, which will be performed at the Capitol theater on April 21, and the 'Eight murcianos', which will take place on April 20 on the ciezano stage, complement the programming of the fair.
Traveling exhibitions
Also, within the III Regional Fair of Children and Youth Book, the municipal library of Cieza hosts two exhibitions: 'Comics and comics (until 1980)', made for this event, and '100 years of TBO', a sample of small format of the Regional Library on the mythical magazine 'TBO' that recalls some of its most famous characters such as the Ulises family, Josechu the Basque or the inventions of Professor Franz of Copenhagen.

Along with the exhibition of Cieza, the exhibition 'This is not a comic book' has just been inaugurated at the Municipal Library of Fortuna, through which the public will visit some of the events that have led to the birth and growth of the graphic novel.
