The III Regional Fair of Children and Youth Book was opened yesterday in Cieza with different activities attended by the Director General of Cultural Heritage, Juan Antonio Lorca.
The booths to show the latest literary novelties and host numerous activities will remain until April 25 in the Plaza Esquina del Convento.
Lorca stressed "the importance of bringing culture and literature to younger people, an audience to which we pay special attention in the Plan for the Promotion of Reading prepared by the regional government, which organizes numerous activities in the Regional Library and that also proposes to take the culture to the street, as this regional fair will do, filling Cieza activities and the nearby municipalities during the next few days to promote the passion for reading ".
Workshops, storytelling, book exchanges, literary routes, recitals, theatrical performances and exhibitions are some of the activities organized for all types of public and, especially, for students of schools and institutes.
They will also present in Cieza their last works the writers Lorenzo Silva, Care Santos and authors of the Region, among whom are Manuel Moyano, Francisco López Mengual and Juan Soto Ivars.
