The Ministry of Public Works and Planning encourages revitalization works in the processional route around the old part of Cieza with a regional investment exceeding 1.2 billion euros.
The Director of Planning and Housing, Antonio Navarro, said that "for the Executive Murcia is paramount to work on projects that represent a high social benefit, as is the case with this performance, featuring a large number of citizens the opportunity to apply the aid for housing rehabilitation, as well as a boost for one of the most traditional areas of Cieza.
The work, which forms a Comprehensive Rehabilitation Area (ARI) under the Regional Housing Plan 2009-2012, will take place along the Paseo de Ronda, in an area that is structured according to the natural course of the river Segura to passing through the population.
This is an area of 151,403 meters comprising 39 square blocks of houses, mostly with two heights.
The area is bounded on the west by the street La Palma, Los Pinos and Moreritas, south on the Paseo de Ronda and Echegaray Street, east through the streets of Chorrillo Cuesta, Inns and Cuesta de la Villa, and north by Fortaleza Street, Cubic and Cuesta del Rio.
In total, the performance includes both the interior rehabilitation of 200 houses and outside of the blocks and common areas, with work focused on improving accessibility and energy conservation.
