In particular, this first phase includes interior remodeling of the municipal market with the installation of new commercial equipment for collective use, such as the modernization of electrical and lighting systems, installation of air conditioning system of the building, reconstruction of the doors of access, tiled interior beautification and a new distribution and standardization of market stalls.
Sanchez-Solis said, "This renovation, which has already reached 60 per cent of its implementation, aims to promote the revival of trade, valuing the local shops and highlight the image of quality and professionalism of retail, with the enhance competitiveness and stimulate sales, in line with the regional government of turning supplies in places trade incentive instruments in urban localities. "
The supply market of Cieza was built in 1929 and is currently one of the most representative buildings of the municipality, so that since 1979 has been classified as World Heritage Regional Architectural Interest.
The remodeling of this space is an initiative of the Ministry of Universities, Business and Research, through the Directorate General of Commerce and Handicrafts, in collaboration with the Municipality of Cieza, is framed in the Plan to Promote Regional Retail Murcia.
