Jose Manuel Lorca Planes, yesterday presided over the opening Eucharist of the Jubilee Year has been awarded to Cieza to mark the 400 years since the presence of the image of Stmo.

The Mass took place at five-thirty pm at the Basilica of Our Lady of the Assumption.
After greeting prescribed liturgy, Vicar of Cieza, Yecla area and Commissioner of the Jubilee Year, D.
Angel Molina, said a few words of welcome and appreciation to Mr. Bishop, who, in turn, sent the decrees to be read accordingly.
Thus, we proceeded to read the decree of the Bishop, giving the Jubilee Year and the decrees of the Apostolic Penitentiary (first in Latin and then translated into Spanish), granting indulgences.
Immediately afterwards, the Bishop opened the Jubilee Year.
In his homily, the bishop greeted those present and called the Vicar and the priests who minister in Cieza to work looking for the fellowship and unity.
He also noted that the Jubilee Year will work out of the ordinary, but it will be exciting and worthwhile.
He highlighted the welcoming nature of ciezanos and responsibility of being the image of Christ to others.
In the Eucharist concelebrated by priests of various parishes in Cieza and many children of the people who minister in other places.
Among the authorities was the Delegate of the Government in the Region of Murcia, Cieza Mr. Mayor, accompanied by some members of the Municipal Corporation, some Deputies, the Civil Guard Captain and Mrs. Chief of Police Local.
Among the faithful include the Sisters of Christ Crucified, those of the Good Shepherd, and the chairman and members of the Confraternity of the Holy Christ, President of the Board of guilds and the presidents and members of other fraternities, as well as organizing committee of the Jubilee Year.
