The Community supports the use of renewable energy being a key element for social and economic development of the Region (09/07/2012)

The Minister for Universities and Research Company, José Ballesta, accompanied by the Mayor of Cieza, Antonio Tamayo, opened today in the municipality the course 'Introduction to renewable energy: energy for all, culture for all' of the International University of the Sea -Campus Mare Nostrum, organized by the Polytechnic University of Cartagena and Murcia University.

During the ceremony, Jose Ballesta said that "an essential aspect in the development and implementation of technologies for renewable energy production, clean energy, is the awareness of the benefits they report to the society."

To do this, continued the Minister, "the organization of forums, which facilitates the transfer of knowledge and experience among professionals involved in this area, are a key tool in promoting one of the key elements for economic growth Murcia region, such as renewable energy. "

The course 'Introduction to renewable energy: energy for all, culture for all' is held from today until Thursday, July 12, in the Municipal Archaeological Museum 'Siyâsa' in Cieza.

Aimed at professionals and students and the general public, aims to provide a global view on renewable energy, delving into aspects such as management and energy conservation, solar and wind energy, biomass utilization and architecture climate.

"The course here in the town of Cieza is especially significant because it has always been recognized as one of the municipalities that have opted for the most advanced technology, not only in the field of information technology and communication, but also in the field of renewable energy, wind power plants and, soon, with a biomass plant that will be a pioneer in the Murcia region, "said the counselor.

In the year that the United Nations Organization (UN) has declared the International Year of Sustainable Energy for All, with various activities including the course, it comes to promoting sustainable development and respect for the environment, through awareness of society about the desirability of using renewable energy.
