On the occasion of the Fair and Festival in honor of St. Bartholomew (Patron of Cieza) the Department of Tourism has organized a series of free guided tours to the cave chasm of the Merganser.
Open to the impressive Canyon Almadenes, has inside Roman solely peninsular cave habitat and a remarkable set of rock art, including the catalog of Rock Art of the Mediterranean Basin, declared World Heritage by UNESCO in 1998.
This is one of the activities under the Plan Product deDinamización turísco Cieza, that by programaLEADER has been granted to the municipality.
Tours are conducted in small groups and are conducted by official tour guide.
Their aim is to inform the poblaciónlocal tourism resources of the municipality.
The scheduled days are 25, 27, 28, 29 and 30 August and inscriptions and background information can be made at the tourist office, located in the Plaza of Spain, or on the phone 968 45 35 00.
