The Guardia Civil of the Region of Murcia has developed the operation 'PLATINUM', part of the 'Plan against burglary', which has resulted in the dismantling of a young band based in Cieza and composed of five young, now arrested .

The investigation of a robbery at a house in the locality where they stole pieces of jewelry worth more than 21,000 euros, has culminated in the dismantling of the band, who was starting his criminal history related to crimes against property in the town.

Agents specialized in safety prevention research began to detect the theft of a large number of jewelry in a home in Cieza, which was a beautiful older woman and handicap.

The first tests carried out by the civil guards guided the possible authorship of the robbery.

Indications were obtained after conducting a thorough analysis of control and information obtained at various establishments purchase and sale of gold and precious metals, which detected jewelry sales worth more than 21,000 euros, and had been made by some young.

The result of the investigations carried out, the Meritorious found that after the commission of the robbery investigation was allegedly a group of young people who took advantage of the advanced age and disability of the victim to enter his home and steal all valuables, mainly jewelry.

Specific Roles and selected victims

Each of the members of this young band was assigned a specific task, since the commission of the robbery to profit after the sale of the stolen objects.

To do this, inquired about homes where elderly residing and place where they kept the jewels.

Once appointed the goal, executed the robbery and were rushing to sell the stolen objects in order to obtain economic benefit as soon as possible and avoid detection.

Having identified all the members of the band and shelled its organization, the Civil Guard established a search that led to the location and arrest of five youths, including one minor, suspected of a crime of burglary .

The officers have recovered some of the stolen jewelry totaling a value of over € 8,000 and, after being brought to justice, have been returned to its rightful owner.

Detained

The operation culminated in the arrest of the five members of the boy band, one of them a minor, suspected of the crime of burglary, all identified as:

- Spanish, 19 years old and a resident of Cieza.

- Spanish, 19-year-old neighbor of Cieza.

- Spanish, age 20 and resident of Cieza.

- Spanish, age 20 and resident of Cieza.

- Minor

Two of those arrested have numerous precedents for committing similar crimes.

Recovered Effects

The exploitation of the operation has allowed agents to recover part of stolen jewels whose value exceeds € 8,000.

Those arrested, the effects recovered and the proceedings have been brought before the Court of Instruction No. 3 of Cieza (Murcia) and the Office of Children of Murcia.
