The Murcia Regional Assembly today unanimously approved a motion by IU-Greens deputy, José Antonio Pujante, for the protection, restoration and conservation "under optimal conditions" of the Medina Islamic Siyâsa depopulated in Cieza.
The initiative urges the parties concerned to comply, without further modifications, the agreement between the regional government, the tourist consortium 'Almadenes Gorge' and the city of Cieza for restoration and enhancement of the wilderness.
Popular Parliamentary Group has submitted a transaction to the motion to suppress the party requesting the restoration works are executed before December 31, 2016 and that there is no "more budget slippage".
In the proposition, Pujante claims the wilderness, which is the most important site in Europe Islamic decoration, "is treated as it deserves" and notes that "it is not a local issue", but "a priority of all administrations ".
