Media attached to Infomur plan to combat forest fires in the region of Murcia extinction have today exercised coordination with extinguishing media Castilla-La Mancha and Military Emergency Unit in a simulated forest fire that would have affected municipalities Cieza and Hellin.
The exercise took part, by the Region of Murcia, three terrestrial forest brigades, a helicopter and helicopter-borne brigade, mobile control unit Unit Forest Fire of DG Environment, mobile command unit to Transfer and Coordination Group of the Directorate General of Public Safety and Emergency.
By the Junta de Comunidades de Castilla-La Mancha, have attended two ground forest brigade, a helicopter and helicopter transport brigade forward command post.
Meanwhile, the Military Emergency Unit (UME) have moved two platoons from bases Bétera and Torrejón, respectively.
The Director General of Public Security and Emergency Presidential and Employment, Luis Gestoso, who attended the exercise development, stressed the "importance of coordination with major emergencies know no boundaries between regions."
He noted the "high level of readiness" of troops for the fight against forest fires.
To Gestoso, "these exercises are always important, but more in a year in which the lack of rain leaves a very dry and extremely vulnerable to forest fires."
The drill involved a total of 150 people.
