Ascension Ato Abellán, President of the Assembly Local Red Cross, following the request of 112 to activate units relief and emergency Cieza Red Cross mobilized human and material resources to support people affected by serious bus accident Saturday in the town.
The incident occurred at 23:20 pm when a bus coming from Madrid and heading to Bullas (Murcia) went off the road and plunged down an embankment fifty feet.
For now, the tragic toll of the accident is 14 dead and 42 people injured in varying degrees.
From Red Cross Cieza moved there several Immediate Response Teams Emergency psychosocial support, volunteers and ambulances.
These teams consist porpsicólogos, health, volunteers and social workers, and other profiles, which relied on painful moments for the wounded and the families of the victims at the scene and later at the Hospital of Cieza and Reina Sofia Hospital.
The Director of Emergency Relief and Red Cross in Cieza, Francisco Jose Melgarejo Morote mobilized numerous volunteers who participated in the various places where the wounded, families and friends of the crash victims were, and who joined the number of volunteers supported the Red Cross emergency from Murcia.
Throughout the morning of Saturday, the Assembly Local Red Cross in Cieza stood with its doors open as the main point of provisioning, available at all times for the rest of the professional volunteers from Red Cross and other organizations.
