The vocational centers, which operate in several municipalities in our region for many years and are an exceptional measure of formal grouping that consists of establishing groups outside the secondary but in coordination with these, certain students with severe difficulties insert in the educational environment.
With its existence is intended to prevent truancy and social maladjustment of these adolescents, providing occupational training and basic training while they are in school.
In Cieza there has long been one of these vocational centers, for whose service has given the City a municipal facilities, ships INFOEM;
in return, under successive conventions and agreements to this effect, the Community gives this classroom with the necessary teachers, a teacher and a technical teacher FP.
As explained Councilman IU-Green, Antonio Penalva, "in accordance with the agreement signed with the Ministry of Education, the City is obligated to three essential benefits in relation to the Occupational Classroom: first, the development of projects and actions complementary, for which a municipal technical program, which coordinates and monitors ascribed to minors, but also to facilitate infrastructure adequately equip classrooms and workshops and establish a sufficient economic base for the operation of the Classroom ".
Well, since I started the course "news arrivals to this political group, in very different ways, about the poor state of the facilities where you been providing this educational service have been alarming, facilities are inadequate, as we had already denounced past, are far from the centers, which makes problematic the intervention of management teams in conflicts of coexistence that, unfortunately, are not uncommon, and offer a scarcely conducive to education environment; to this the lack of adds adequate resources, maintenance and even cleaning them, even something as basic as is the existence of heating in the cold months. "
IU councilors understand that "being in breach of the obligations of the City Council on this important educational program" and thus present a motion at the next plenary May.
Penalva notes that "we do it in a positive, non-sterile enter reproaches, although this is an issue that should have been addressed and solved long ago."
In this proposal, signed by Antonio Penalva, we propose "find a new location for the Occupational Classroom, bringing together best conditions, with the intention to carry out the transfer as soon as possible and in any event before the end of the first quarter of next school year. "
In addition, it aims to set "commitment to engage a sufficient budget allocation to cover the costs of basic operation of the Occupational Classroom and proper equipment provision thereof, ensuring the development of these teachings under such dignity, at least, like those of all other taught in the municipality.
