On Wednesday, he appeared at a press conference Cristina García-Vaso, candidate of IU-Greens / Win Cieza to present the electoral program of training on Health.
García-Vaso, has begun saying that IU-Green has always defended public health and health promotion beyond preventing disease, and although the powers of the municipalities are limited in terms of health, "we must incorporate Cieza Healthy Cities project of the World Health Organization, coordinating health programs and environmental health programs. "
Then he referred to the situation of health services in the municipality, recognizing that there has been an improvement in the supply of patient care, singularly from the implementation of the Regional Hospital, but there are a conformist attitude with what we have;
It has also stated that we have deficiencies in the aspect of promoting health, greater attention to disease prevention is needed and the argument is assumed, so often repeated, that the councils have little expertise in health, because "it is health thing ";
an "old fashioned and false mantra because it is based on the nineteenth-century concept of health."
From this diagnosis, the candidate has shelled the three block measures including Win Cieza IU-Greens in his electoral program: improvement of the current situation of health services in the municipality;
improvement of social structures for the prevention of diseases;
and health promotion.
Regarding the first, he has stressed that we must reduce the time for appointments;
we must ensure the permanent opening of the agendas and elimination of waiting lists;
we must allow that there is continuous change in primary health care;
improving the frequency of bus service;
reduced time for rehabilitating and centralization of services.
As regards the improvement of social structures for the prevention of diseases, has emphasized the prevention of eating disorders, the treatment of certain diseases (obesity, sleep problems, mental health in adolescents ...) as diseases;
the design of the urban planning on the health of people;
avoid excessive noise;
eliminate the lack of hygiene and dirt in our streets;
and eliminate illegal dumping.
Finally, Garcia Vaso has addressed proposals to promote health, underscoring the need to provide the Municipal Health Council organizational skills and participation in management, changing from the Regional Assembly legislation;
the commitment to promote health, not just treating the disease, providing resources for the task, from primary care.
