The Minister of Culture and Spokesperson, Noelia Arroyo, and the Mayor of Cieza, Pascual Lucas, today visited the site of Hisn Siyâsa in Cieza, where up to July 17 taking place Labor Camp and Youth and Archaeology Course IV Hisn Siyâsa.
This activity is organized by the Ministry of Culture and Spokesperson, the City of Cieza and the Volunteers Association and it Siyâsa about 20 young people between 18 and 30 participants.

Since last July 6, the 20 young people involved in this activity consists primarily in carrying out tasks archaeological dig in the defensive system of the Islamic medina.
During these tasks, participants are making processes stratigraphic record, drawings and sections, photographs and works of classification and inventory of archaeological material.

The course and field work, led by Joaquín Salmeron and José María Morcillo, is also complete with cultural events and leisure activities, with a visit to the Museum of Siyâsa and a visit to the Cave of Serreta young people held today, during which you can admire the cave paintings preserved in this coat.

The depopulated Siyâsa
The depopulated Siyâsa, located in the Cerro del Castillo of Cieza, is a regular pattern of rural settlement in height Andalusian protected by a defensive system comprising two fortified walls and enclosures located in the highest part.
Since 2000, it is declared of Cultural Interest with category of Archaeological Zone.
During the decades of the 80s and 90s made official excavations give maximum information about the creation of the Andalusian village.
Since then, due to the importance of this site, there have been various actions financed by the Community.
For the implementation of the restoration of the excavated area, the Community and the City of Cieza and signed an agreement in 2008 agreed to allocate a new grant of 1,727,142 euros, of which 1,209,000 will contribute Culture (figure adds the nearly 725,000 euros already delivered), for further work until next 2017.
