The Civil Guard dismantled a criminal group dedicated to rural housing raiding in Cieza (11/12/2015)

The Civil Guard in the region of Murcia, in the framework of the 'Plan against burglary', has developed the operation 'Bruixot 2' which has culminated in the dismantling of a criminal group, based in Cieza and dedicated to raid homes rural areas in the regions of Vega Alta, Vega Valle de Ricote and Media.

In operation, the Civil Guard have arrested six members of the criminal network, which is attributed the alleged perpetrators of the crimes of burglary, receiving stolen goods and membership organization crimina.

It has also recovered a large number of stolen the majority appliances, furniture, machine tools and effects, and have been clarified so far ten crimes.

Last September, the Civil Guard initiated the investigation in order to clarify several counts of burglary in houses located in rural areas of the municipality of Cieza.

The first investigations were developed to identify people who might be behind the perpetrators of the theft, and to prevent the commission of further crimes, so many night surveillance devices were established in the areas where they used to commit robberies to housing.

Evidence from developed preventive devices led to the Civil Guard to focus research on a group of people, residents of the town, who held meetings continuously, did not develop any work activity and had great mobility not only for Cieza, but also by neighboring towns.

This phase of research allowed to fully identify all network members, including its leader, and vehicles used by them to move to the time of committing the theft and transport, then the stolen objects.

It also found that the stolen goods were sold to various establishments for the sale of second hand both in the region and Alicante, to avoid detection.

Modus operandi

The criminal group began its criminal activity monitoring and setting future goals in daytime.

For this property surveys conducted and its approaches to plan how to assault them and possible escape routes in case of detection.

To access the houses used force against fences, doors and windows and in a short space of time subtracted lot of effects, allowing them to commit several robberies in one night.

His goal was to steal all appliances washing machines, refrigerators, ovens and hobs, electronic appliances, agricultural tools and DIY, construction machinery, furniture and household equipment, and housing elements such as windows, railings and even a fireplace.

Most sales are made in an establishment of the Alicante town of Elche.
