The director general of Transport and Ports, Carmen Sandoval, visited the association of physically disabled 'Touch of Ala', Cieza, to deliver a new vehicle sponsored by the ministries of Public Works and Planning and the Social Policy , Women and Migration.
This is a nine-seater van, adapted for three wheelchairs, which represents an investment of 7,489 euros, and is being used to transport users from their homes to the various centers of the association.
The Director General stressed the "important social work that the partnership is developing in Cieza," which, since its inception in 1985, provides assistance to about 600 members.
Sandoval said that "from the regional administration is working to support the needs of these groups and with measures of this type, it seeks to collaborate and facilitate their work."
In this regard, the Ministry of Public Works and Planning has given in the call 2007-2008 grants totaling more than 360,000 euros, helped acquire 17 vehicles adapted for non-profit associations or put them at needs of users with mobility problems.
The association of physical disability 'Touch of Ala', Cieza, was created 23 years ago.
Since then he has developed various activities with the efforts of its associates and entities who year after year have supported.
