The Director of Fine Arts and Cultural Heritage, Enrique Ujaldón, presented this morning at the Brotherhood of Christ of the Agony of Cieza the sculpture of The Flagellation, also known as 'Whipping', made by Christ at the Pillar Gonzalez Moreno, 1947 and two executioners of the late eighteenth early nineteenth attributed to John Smith.
"The restoration of this work is an example of the efforts of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in the restoration of Murcia processional imagery which is an important part of our artistic heritage, culture and tourism, more so, when is a work Juan González Moreno who are celebrating the centenary of his birth, "said Ujaldón.
The intervention has been the protection and consolidation of the surveys, physical-chemical cleaning, repainting and removal of previously applied stucco invading areas of the pictorial film, reintegration and protection chromatic final.
The restoration has had a budget of 20,000 euros and a deadline of five months.
