The Governing Council has approved the conclusion of several agreements with the municipalities of Murcia and Cieza to assist women victims of violence and implement programs to promote equal opportunities between women and men, for which the Autonomous Community will provide a total of 132,000 euros.
The grant of 56,000 euros for the Municipality of Cieza will finance the equipment of the Care Centre for women victims of violence in this county, and foster care, which will be hosted by women victims of domestic violence and their children a resource that will be protective services, accommodation, food, counseling, vocational guidance and training and social care, education, health and integration.
The agreement between the Ministry of Social Policy, Women and Immigration through the Institute of Women, and the city of Murcia, endowed with 76,000 euros, will provide the use of care for women victims of violence and implement programs that promote equality opportunities for women and men.
Similarly, the host service that will provide the City of Murcia offer accommodation and service to these women and their children, providing a comprehensive and promoting personal autonomy to help them rebuild their lives under normal conditions.
Moreover, the agreement provides for the implementation of programs that promote equal opportunities between women and men, for what activities will be co-education and sharing of family responsibilities, and carry out actions to promote associations, participation and access of women to decision-making processes.
In addition, will be launched intervention programs to promote the integration of women in rural and other socio-cultural activities such as meetings and discussion forums on the situation of women in all areas.
