The Minister of Social Policy, Women and Migration, Joaquín Bascuñana, today laid the foundation stone for the construction of a new Center for Child Care (ISC), located in the industrial estate of 'The Meadows' de Cieza, which may be given to more than fifty children aged between 0 and 3 years.
The counselor noted that this is another initiative in the policy of reconciling work and family life of parents of children who were followed from the department heads, hence the suitability of locating the CAI in the industrial estates as worked there a number of women both in agricultural enterprises and cooperatives in the fruit.
The new IAC will include a total of 54 seats and is divided into four different classes to cater for children of varying ages, and infrastructure will also have a dining room and multipurpose room to provide comprehensive care to children.
The project has a total budget of 666,667 euros, of which the Ministry will provide 400,000 euros.
From Social Policy, Women and Immigration will subsidize a total of 173 places for children throughout the town of Cieza.
Ascope occupations Center
On the other hand, Bascuñana also laid the foundation stone of the extension in the occupational center of Regional Association of Parents and Mentally Handicapped Savers (Ascope), with a total of 70 users whose ages range between 16 and 60 years.
Ascope Association has a special education center and an occupational center, which will be expanded and equipped with specific facilities for the care of mentally impaired people and offers a referral service, physiotherapy, and conducting training workshops for users.
The project has a total budget of 495,000 euros, of which the Department provides, on a multiannual basis, a total of 325,000 euros.
Bascuñana noted that this is a very important action which will complete the service already provided to people with disabilities in the town of Cieza, and offers the possibility not only to receive individual attention but also training activities aimed together to users.
