The Shield parties recall the siege of the city by King Hassan Abu-I-
To several hundred people who gathered in the Plaza de San Bartolomé de Cieza, Mayor, Miguel Ángel Cámara, in his capacity as Ambassador Moro, harangued the troops to pursue the invasion of the town.
It well recalls the historical events that occurred in 1477, when it was the looting by troops Nazari.
The Shield-parties including the National Union of Organizations festive, finds three key milestones: delivery of power to the Commander-Antonio Marin, by the Mayor of Cieza, with a mock invasion of fighting and hostage-taking at the Hermitage San Bartolomé and the parade of Moors and Christians.
So, Miguel Ángel Cámara, ambassador of King Hassan Abu-I--represented this year by Christopher Herrera-met last night with his duty to convey your message:
(...)
Me encourage you in this war,
Castilian against cruel,
that nothing is left standing,
to remind the infidel.
Assault without ceasing
and demolish their strongholds,
to tremble when they see us,
hover banners.
They pay with their blood,
their fearful insolence
have to kiss our feet,
for such disobedience.
Know my brave warriors
to what we came here,
Cieza and destroying their fields
I just want killed or surrendered.
(...)
Party say they are,
adoring the Cross,
faith that presumes,
will break our musket.
Ejercito de Granada,
from this we were sitting,
I raise my alfarje,
to inflict suffering.
But today my "wrath of God '
Fear not, clear your mind,
because everything will happen tomorrow,
morning we crossed the bridge.
Cieza is transformed this weekend in a city of the Middle Ages thanks to the Festival of Shield, of which House and Ginés Martínez-director of the Regional Employment Service and Training "embody the Christian and Moorish ambassadors, respectively.

Before the harangue arrears, the Mayor of Cieza, Antonio Tamayo, handed over powers to the Commander, played this year by Antonio Marín.
Following the opening of Moorish and Christian camps, it was the turn of the Embassy Mora, by Miguel Ángel Cámara.
In contrast to the rest of Moorish and Christian holidays, in these defeats the Moors.
