The Council also supports the idea competitions for filling the Paseo de Ronda and the Hotel de las Delicias
The general director of Housing and Architecture Department of Public Works and Planning, Mark Nogueroles, today visited the town of Cieza in the company of its mayor, Antonio Tamayo, where the regional government will invest more than 600,000 euros for recovery of regional architectural heritage.
During the visit, the general director checked the status of the facades restored in recent months in the old city, dating back between 60 and 150 years, and of those whose works will start shortly be implemented.
"With these subsidies promote recovery and maintenance of architectural heritage in all municipalities in the Region of Murcia, thus providing an added value to cultural and tourist locality and preserving the rich culture of our region," said Mark Nogueroles .
Rehabilitation of the facades, which has received a grant of 500,000 euros from the regional government, is part a larger program for the recovery of the homes located along the processional route that crosses at Easter the streets of Cieza.
Other conservation activities
In addition, the general manager recalled that the Ministry of Public Works and Land Management also funds competitions ideas about design of the Paseo de Ronda and the Hotel de Las Delicias, where he invested 146,000 euros.
El Paseo de Ronda is the edge of the town of Cieza in the south, acting as the boundary between the city and the garden that separates the Rio Segura.
The ideas competition held for rehabilitation is to select a proposal to enhance its recreational and social nature in a catchment area of more than 190,000 square meters.
As for the Hotel de las Delicias, is a building located in the protected area by the Special Protection Plan for the Sierra de la Atalaya and Menjú.
In its scope are the oldest trees in the municipality with more than three hundred years, remaining fields used for growing fruit.
The aim of the competition of ideas is the case in the rehabilitation and reuse of the building to promote tourism in the municipality.
The intervention on the building will be oriented to the conservation of the original project, replacing the damaged items with others of similar characteristics to maintain the original aesthetics of the building.
