Police operation against the exploitation of immigrant labor (25/06/2009)

Agents of the Police Headquarters of Murcia belonging to the Provincial Brigade Aliens and Borders, in collaboration with the Provincial Brigade of Public Safety, the Commissioner General of Immigration and Borders and the local Labour Inspectorate of Murcia, has conducted a operation has resulted in the arrest of two persons for their involvement in crimes against the rights of workers and nineteen other infringement of the Aliens Act.

The research that has enabled us to carry out this operation, had their origin in the accumulation of a series of indicators which showed irregularities on a farm located on a farm near the town of Cieza, Murcia.

According to data obtained by investigators, the company responsible for operation of that farming would be using in many immigrants without residence permits or work.

In the scene proceeded to the arrest of RPL and GRL, both of Spanish nationality, accountable and responsible for the company, respectively, who are accused of committing crimes against the rights of workers.

Besides these, there was the arrest of nineteen people for violation of the Immigration Act.
