The Minister of Social Policy, Women and Migration, Joaquín Bascuñana, opened today in Cieza the day center for occupational care and welfare of mentally ill patients, sponsored by the Association of Families and Persons with Mental Illness of Cieza and Shire (AFEMCE) .
The project cost amounted to 133,849 euros, of which 100,000 have been provided by the Autonomous Community and the remaining 33,849 by the association.
The new center, whose scope includes the municipalities of Cieza, Abarán and White, holds 30 seats, of which 20 are agreed.
Users will be staffed by six professionals, who will occupy the psychosocial rehabilitation services, occupational center, dining and transportation.
Three of the monitors will occupy newly created jobs.
The main objectives of the day center is to provide comprehensive rehabilitation process for those who suffer from mental illness and serve respite care to families living with mental illness.
AFEMCE association was established in 1998 and has 179 members.

New child development center and early intervention
Joaquin Bascuñana, accompanied by the Mayor of Cieza, Antonio Tamayo, and the managing director of IMAS, Isabel Sola, then moved to the town hall being remodeled to relocate the headquarters of the Center for Child Development and Early to Fernando Street III El Santo.
The future center can accommodate 80 children a week, 20 more than is serving as well as follow-up cases are 70 today.
The investment made by the Ministry in 2009 and 2010 amounts to 240,000 euros, 74.32 percent of the total cost.
It is envisaged that the first phase of the center is completed by the middle of next May.
